Une semaine d’atelier AFTER EGO sera proposée par Isabelle ÜSKI au festival de Contact Improvisation de Varsovie
Being danced within states of transe
When I dance, who dances? One of the most delightful things I experience while dancing is when I have no idea of who is dancing, when the body is caught in a moving mesh that is bigger than itself and is simply being danced. One could speak of a state of grace. The ease in the flow and the creativity is at its peak. I find this state with various practices: contact improvisation, authentic movement, tuning score among others. Each time, it is a question of allowing oneself to be moved by something other than oneself: by the meeting with the other, by the tuning of the group, by the dance itself, by an imaginary, by a more mysterious force. This happens in an altered state of body-consciousness. It is a relatively soft state of trance, both anchored and open. Who dances is then no longer important and new dancing states, freed from the ego, can arise and flow through us. We can than be surprised, displaced, marveled.
We will seek and explore theses states in this workshop. Music or eriksonnian hypnosis tools will facilitate their access.
