Isabelle works as a performer and teacher in France and passionately shares her interest in human interactions and moving creativity. She has been studying, researching, performing and teaching contact improvisation or instant composition for the last 10 years.

Trained first in Contemporary Dance, she met contact improvisation in 1999. It had an instant and obvious resonance. Her approach will then forever be nurtured with movement and meditative practices: authentic movement, meditation, yoga and qi gong, Laban-Bartenieff and BMC), voice exploration and singing. Some important and influential meetings: Steve Paxton, Nancy Stark Smith, Lisa Nelson, Kirstie Simson, Ana Halprin, Simone Forti, Andrew Harwood etc.. In 2002, she validates a Master in Performative Arts, and writes her thesis on ‘Touch in Contact improvisation’.

Since 2002, she teaches intensively in France and occasionally abroad including in international festivals. In 2005, she settled in Grenoble, French Alps, where she initiated various local, national or international events and which now holds one of the most dynamic French CI communities. In her workshops, she invites to a physical and mindful work and encourages group and individual curiosity, simplicity and creativity.

She has developed her skills in performing with many partners such as Emilie Borgo, Michael Kurtzman Schachrur, Odile Perrin, Daniel Bourgne, Joe Stoller or more occasionally with Didier Silhol,  Barnaby Tree, Emmanuel Grivet, Adrian Russi, Keith Hennesey, Patricia Kuypers, the Tumblebones… She regularly offers workshops exploring extensively instant composition with contact improvisation, notably with ‘Les Subtisseurs’, a deeply committed group involved in her regular class in Grenoble. For the last 7 years, she also has been using and exploring voice and developed voice and movement work. Her last piece ENAO, is about a ‘moving’ song.
